Is it really “topical Botox”?

SNAP-8 is marketed as interfering with a SNAP-25-related protein interaction, but the cited clinical evidence does not show that topical SNAP-8 blocks neuromuscular transmission like injected botulinum toxin.

Botulinum toxin is a potent enzyme delivered by injection to a defined anatomical target. A cosmetic octapeptide placed on intact skin has a different molecule, delivery problem, exposure, and evidence base.
